The shooter, who was a temporary worker at the facility, has also died.

A 26-year-old woman opened fire at a Maryland Rite Aid distribution center Thursday morning, killing three people and injuring others, according to authorities.

The lone shooter, who has not been identified, died of apparent self-inflicted wounds, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said. She was a temporary employee at the distribution center.

Three people were killed and seven others wounded during the shooting spree just after 9 a.m., authorities said. The suspect was armed with a single gun.

Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said during a news conference that no members of law enforcement fired shots.

"What I understand is the location is secure," Rite Aid spokeswoman Susan Henderson said after the shooting. "The distribution center is where products are received and processed for delivery. This is part of a large facility that is a distribution center. The shooting happened adjacent to the primary building."

The FBI Baltimore office and special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting in the investigation.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan tweeted about the shooting Thursday.

“Our prayers are with all those impacted, including our first responders," Logan said. "The State stands ready to offer any support."
