What Happened at Meghan Markle and Michelle Obama's Secret Get-Together in London?

The pair enjoyed a private meeting while Michelle Obama was in London promoting her new book, "Becoming."

Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle had a private and very secret get-together in London, it has just been revealed.

The former first lady was in the British capital promoting her new book, “Becoming,” at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall Monday. The Duchess of Sussex attended the sold-out event and then she went backstage for what's being called a "secret power meeting" with the former first lady.  It was the first time they'd ever met. More details were not revealed.

Obama, whose autobiography has become the best-selling book of the year, talked about a plethora of moments from her life during the event in London.

She also gushed about meeting Queen Elizabeth II with her husband, former President Obama.

“Barack is so incredibly fond of Her Majesty,” Michelle gushed. “I won’t go into his fangirling, but I think it’s because she reminds him of his grandmother.”

Michelle has canceled two stops on the book tour so she can attend former President George H.W. Bush's state funeral on Wednesday.

The former first lady also has some advice for the duchess in the January 2019 issue of Good Housekeeping.

"Like me, Meghan probably never dreamt that she'd have a life like this, and the pressure you feel -- from yourself and from others -- can sometimes feel like a lot," Michelle wrote. "So my biggest piece of advice would be to take some time and don't be in a hurry to do anything."

Michelle also told the magazine that Meghan should find ways to make her impact known for causes that matter to her.

“What I’d say is that there’s so much opportunity to do good with a platform like that — and I think Meghan can maximize her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she’s doing something that resonates with her personally,” she said.
