Orangutan Seen Putting Ointment on Face Wound in Indonesia

An orangutan revealed his first aid knowledge! Rakus, a male wild orangutan in Indonesia, was seen chewing up a leaf and then applying its juice to a wound on his cheek. Within a month, the deep wound healed up, reportedly without getting infected. That was back in 2022 and scientists have been studying the incident ever since. They say Rakus was seen chewing the liana plant, which orangutans don’t normally eat. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
