Paul and Janna Ryan Thrust Into Spotlight

Paul and Janna Ryan have been thrust into the spotlight since it was announced that he is Mitt Romney's running mate. Now, even Janna's wardrobe choices are under the microscope. INSIDE EDITION reports.

Janna Ryan is making a thrifty fashion statement as her husband begins campaigning for vice president.

Turns out, the floral dress she wore at a rally in North Carolina is right off the rack and cost $33 on sale at Kohl's department store. The Kohl's website shows the floral wrap dress was knocked down from it's original price of $66, but the website adds: "We're sorry, this item is no longer available."

Now, first lady Michelle Obama, known for her own sense of style, is welcoming the Ryan family to the campaign in an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Michelle Obama said, "I hope that he and his family embrace the opportunity, which I know they will, and get out there and meet people in this country and we welcome them to the campaign."

But Bristol Palin, who knows a thing or two about the glare of the national spotlight, says the Ryan family faces "an ordeal that few people will ever experience."

Bristol writes on her blog: "Pray for his family. Pray that he can meet the challenges of the campaign trail without being burned by the spotlight."

The new Republican vice presidential candidate is already the target of the late-night comics.

David Letterman said, "In college, one of Paul Ryan's jobs was driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. That's a perfect fit with Mitt Romney. Both have experience driving a car with a dog on the roof."
