US Marine's Violent Road Rage Caught on Video

It was a terrifying case of road rage, and the guy who lost it is a Marine sergeant.

The Marine spewed obscenities, threatening to beat up the guy behind the wheel.

He punched the window, kicked the door, and screamed like a maniac.

Meanwhile, throughout the tirade, the driver kept his cool. So did the female passenger, who recorded everything. At one point, she reassured the driver that he was doing the right thing by staying in the car.

It happened near the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base outside San Diego. The Marine who lost it is on active duty and he's a recipient of the Purple Heart.

The woman recording the video is also said to be a Marine, and she's paralyzed from the waist down due to a combat-related injury. The driver was her brother, who also cares for her.

A family friend spoke to a San Diego TV station, saying, "He cut them off, and apparently he kept brake checking them, where he would slam on his brakes abruptly, and they hit into the back of him after he had slammed on his brakes for the third time."

An M.P. showed up and helped to restrain the Marine. A Camp Pendleton spokesperson said the Marine was detained and "cited for communicating a threat."

It's also being reported that the Marine is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and that may help explain his extreme behavior.
