    French Couple Discovers Message in a Bottle That Left New York 2 Years Ago

    It's perhaps one of the most mysterious finds along the beach - a message in a bottle. This one was picked up along the shore in France. It traveled all the way in New York City. Artist George Boorujy tossed the wine bottle into the water more than 2 years ago. A couple was walking their dog when they spotted the elusive glass in the sand. Inside, they found a drawing of a bird and a letter congratulating the finders.

    A thief who was shamed on social media for taking holiday decorations from a New York home has since returned the goods with a letter of apology. A man reportedly seen in surveillance footage plucking the festive holiday laser lights from a Staten Island front yard recently was chastised by Community Education Council 31 President Michael Reilly on Facebook following the theft.

    Fire Captain No Longer Needs Reading Glasses After Groundbreaking New Surgery

    Captain A.J. Martinez has a ton of glasses for various things he needs to do like look at a computer and has many spares for wherever he goes. He turned to Dr. Robert Lin for the newly approved KAMRA eye surgery that the doctor says will enable him to read without glasses. The San Diego firefighter says he was blindsided when he turned 50 years old and suddenly "woke up in the morning and had blurry vision and I couldn't figure it out." Martinez says he felt great after the procedure and had no pain.
