House of Cards made TV history becoming the first digitally distributed program to get an Emmy nomination.
The political drama, streaming on Netflix earned nine nominations including best acting nods for Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.
Scott Feinberg, awards analyst for The Hollywood Reporter told INSIDE EDITION, “It's unprecedented. There has not been a streaming show that has really resonated with the public until House of Cards."
The HBO film about Liberace’s life, Behind the Candelabra, earned 15 nominations including Best Actor nominations for Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
Also nominated for Best Comedy Series were Big Bang Theory, Veep, 30 Rock, Girls, Louie, and Modern Family.
The Emmys will air September 22 on CBS.
