Prosecutors are reviewing the 2008 death of an infant boy whose mother was charged this week with tossing her newborn daughter out of window.
A mother charged with tossing her newborn daughter out of a seventh-floor Bronx apartment window previously had a son who passed away in 2008, it has emerged.
Following the charges brought against Jennifer Berry, prosecutors are now reviewing the infant's death. Her then 2 1/2-week-old son was found dead in his bassinet in her Westchester County home seven years ago.
A medical examiner ruled at the time that he died of natural causes related to sudden infant death syndrome and there was no investigation into the baby’s death, Lucian Chalfen, spokesman for the Westchester District Attorney’s Office, told INSIDE EDITION.
“However, in light of what has transpired in the Bronx, we will be reviewing the death from 2008 again,” Chalfen said.

It was not immediately clear where in the house the bassinet was located, but the Associated Press wrote that the boy was found in the home’s basement.
“The police were notified upon the finding,” Chalfen said.
On Tuesday, Berry, 33, was charged in the Bronx with murder in the second degree and manslaughter in the death of her newborn girl. A police source said the baby was found dead earlier that day in an apartment building alleyway with her umbilical cord still attached.
The girl, who didn’t live long enough to be named and was referred to in court documents as “Jane Doe,” had been tossed by Berry only minutes after she was born, prosecutors and police said.
She died from multiple blunt-force trauma, an autopsy concluded.
Berry appeared in court late Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Assistant District Attorney Georgia Barker said in court that the baby weighed 8 pounds and was healthy, the AP reported.
The city’s Administration for Children’s Services is investigating the death.
Berry briefly worked for the city agency from July 2007 to January 2008. A source said she spent the first three months in classroom-style training and then worked as a trainee with limited interaction with families.
Berry’s attorney did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment.
