Flower Girl and Ring Bearer Wed 17 Years Later: 'I Always Had a Thing For Him'

Brooke and Adrian Franklin returned to the North Carolina church 17 years after they took part in a wedding.

When an adorable photo of a flower girl and ring bearer was taken 17 years ago, no one would have believed the two would eventually walk down the same aisle again - as husband and wife.

But that's exactly what happened when Brooke and Adrian Franklin recently tied the knot at South Gastonia Church of God in Gastonia, North Carolina.

“It’s pretty crazy that we reconnected like this,” Brooke Franklin told INSIDE EDITION.

Back in 1998, when they came together for their first wedding at the church, they were not a match made in heaven -- at least as far as he was concerned.

"I did not want to walk down the aisle with her, but I guess I had to, and I sucked it up as a little kid," Adrian told INSIDE EDITION.

They went to the same school and the same church, but it wasn't until middle school that things started to click.

She caught my eye, the way she would talk, her cute little ways about her,” he said.

I always had a little thing for him,” she gushed.

The precious vintage photo was given to the newlyweds recently by the woman who got married when they served as ring bearer and flower girl. In fact, she was a special guest at their wedding.

“I was in shock – I was like, ‘Oh my goodness!’” said Brooke of the photo.
