Mom Leaves 9-Month-Old Daughter In Hot Car During Her Stripper Audition: Cops
A Tennessee woman faces a child charge after police say she left her young daughter in a hot car while she auditioned at a strip club.
Metropolitan Nashville Police said they found a 9-month-old girl inside a PT Cruiser outside Deja Vu, a gentleman's club. It was 70 degrees outside and as hot as 100 degrees in the car, police said.
An officer spoke to 19-year-old Summer Taylor, a friend of the child's mother, who told them she was keeping an eye on the little girl while the mother auditioned on stage.
However, witnesses told police that neither the mother--Kelsey McMurtry, 24--nor Taylor had been outside for 30 minutes, reports WSMV.
According to the police affidavit, all the windows in the car were rolled up and the child was wearing a coat and drenched in sweat.
While the girl was rushed to an area hospital, McMurtry allegedly lied to them about her name.
Police records indicate McMurtry has an outstanding warrant.
Both McMurty and Taylor have been charged with child neglect while McMurtry has also charged with criminal impersonation.
McMurtry is awaiting trial on $40,000 bond, records show.
Taylor is being held on $10,000 bond.
