"I had been gone for just less than two hours, and I said, 'all right, it's time to eat'," Katrina Bolduc of Bishop told InsideEdition.com. "I crossed the finish line, grabbed my water, grabbed my medal [and] I just fed him right then and there. I didn't really even think about it."

In response, breastfeeding moms on social media have reached out with their congratulations, and shared their own pictures and experiences of breastfeeding in public after marathons and even judo tournaments.

"I never thought of myself as a breastfeeding advocate," she joked.

Despite all the support, the yoga instructor said she has not always been that confident breastfeeding in public. Eager to avoid a negative confrontation, she said she has always given in to the pressure to breastfeed discreetly.

"I used to cover up my son when we used to be out in public," she said. "He hated it, he would grab whatever it was, kick his feet, and rip off whatever was covering him."

She said she continues to struggle with feeding her baby in public, despite the photo being shared all over social media, but because of the positive response she has been receiving, "I'm getting more comfortable with it," she said.
