'The Devil' Wears Pantsuits: Trump Steps Up Attacks on Hillary Clinton as New Poll Shows Her in the Lead

Trump has traded the 'Crooked Hillary' nickname for 'The Devil.'

Donald Trump has taken his rhetoric against Hillary Clinton to a whole new level, calling her "the devil" during a Pennsylvania campaign stop Monday.

The Republican nominee has stepped up his campaign name calling as Clinton begins to gain ground in the polls.

He told the crowd Monday that Bernie Sanders made a “deal with the devil,” by agreeing to back the Democratic presidential nominee following his bitter loss to Clinton in the primaries.

“He made a deal with the devil. She's the devil. He made a deal with the devil. It's true,” Trump said.

In the past, Trump has alluded to calling the former secretary of state the devil but Monday’s rally marked the first time he has flat-out called her “the devil.”

Trump has famously called Clinton many names in the past, including “liar” and his personal favorite “Crooked Hillary.”

Meanwhile, a new NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll shows Clinton has gotten a post-convention bump.

She now leads Trump by 8 points — 50 percent to 42 percent — up from a one-point difference last week.
