Day Three of the George Zimmerman Trial

Trayvon Martin's friend could prove to be the star witness in the George Zimmerman trial. INSIDE EDITION reports.

The George Zimmerman trial braced for the appearance of the prosecution's star witness: the person who was on the phone with him when he was shot.

She has finally been identified as Rachel Jeantel, 19, from Miami. Jeantel said she became friendly with Trayvon when he lived in Miami with his mom.

Rachel reportedly posted a photo of her freshly manicured nails with the comment, "court nails."

The website TheSmokingGun.com says Jeantel has posted comments on social media about drinking and getting high.

On the anniversary of Travyon's death she wrote, "i need a drink smoke and a pray."

Emotion filled the courtroom on day 3 of the trial as prosecutors played the 911 call a neighbor made the night Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon's mother wiped away tears as she and Trayvon's father listened to the harrowing call in which the person states, "I can't believe someone is killed! He was saying 'help!' Why didn't someone come out and help him?"

The call took a toll on Jayne Surdyka, who saw the death struggle.

The jury was shown Trayvon's sweatshirt, the bullet hole from Zimmerman's gunshot clearly visible in the chest area. Prosecutors also played several previous phone calls that Zimmerman had made to authorities about suspicious figures in his neighborhood.
