George Zimmerman Juror Says He Got Away With Murder

She’s the first Zimmerman juror to show her face and juror B29 is conflicted about the not guilty verdict.

She said, ”George Zimmerman got away with murder.”

The juror, who wants only her first name used, 'Maddy', says she and some of the other jurors really wanted George Zimmerman to go to jail.

Maddy continued, “A lot of us wanted to find something bad, something we could connect to the law, but as the law was read to me, if you have no proof that he killed him intentionally, you can't say he's guilty."

The juror told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts that she voted to convict Zimmerman of second degree murder and stood her ground right to the bitter end.

“I was the juror that was going to give him the hung jury. Oh I was. I fought to the end.”

Here’s what we know about juror B29. She’s 36 years old. She has 8 children. She's a certified nurse’s assistant. She was born in Puerto Rico.

Maddy was the only minority on the Zimmerman jury and says she can relate to Trayvon Martin's mother.

She said, “It's hard for me to sleep, it's hard for me to eat. I’m hurting as much as Trayvon Martin's mom is because there's no way that any mother should feel that pain.”

Trayvon's mother, Sybrina Fulton, responded in a statement, saying “It is devastating for my family to hear the comments from juror B29, comments which we already knew in our hearts to be true. That George Zimmerman literally got away with murder."

Maddy said, “I want to apologize to them. I feel like I let them down.”

Meanwhile, the family that George Zimmerman rescued when their SUV overturned in a traffic accident last week had planned on publicly thanking Zimmerman but cancelled it at the last minute.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O' Mara told CNN it's an upsetting situation, saying, “In any way connecting yourself  with George Zimmerman is right now very toxic so they wanted to thank him publicly, they thought they could not for the possibility of blow back against them.”
