Woman Drives Around the World in an Electric Vehicle

Florida native Lexie Alford is the first person to circumnavigate the globe in an all-electric vehicle. She drove an electric Ford Explorer through 27 countries, encountering all sorts of weather conditions. Alford says lack of infrastructure for electric vehicles made charging the car difficult at times. Alford is no stranger to world records. She also holds the title of the youngest person to visit all 196 United Nations-recognized countries in the world.
