Actress With Down Syndrome Lands Lead Role in NYC Show

Jamie Brewer has shared the spotlight with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, like Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange. Now, the 33-year-old actress thought to be the first lead in an off-Broadway production to have Down syndrome. Her list of credits includes a recurring role on the hit TV show "American Horror Story." But perhaps her most challenging role yet is live on stage in "Amy and the Orphans."
