Elizabeth Smart and Other Kidnapping Survivors Celebrate Jayme Closs’ Escape

Other kidnapping survivors are celebrating Jayme Closs’ escape. Katie Beers, who was kidnapped in 1992 when she was 9 years old, was discovered in an underground bunker, where a family friend had held her hostage for 17 days. Elizabeth Smart was 14, just one year older than Closs, when she endured months of unimaginable horror in Utah in 2002. Psychologist Dr. Jeff Gardere discussed what Closs may go through after the kidnapping.
