A college professor writing in the New York Times took aim at the famous dancing scene, calling it “a parody of black menace.” Julie Andrews, covered in soot, looks in her compact as she adds more, then another character mistakes the chimney sweeps for African warriors. Now, "Mary Poppins" fans on social media are calling the accusations ridiculous.
