How Do the Vets at Zoo Miami Clean a Man-Size Jaguar's Teeth?

When it was time for a jaguar named Adonia to get his teeth cleaned, a team at Zoo Miami got to work. First they immobilized the big cat and then pried open his mouth. They used an ultrasonic scaling device on his enormous choppers. Adonia's fangs got a polishing, too, courtesy Dr. Jamie A. Berning, a veterinary dentist the zoo brought in from Ohio. The good news? Adonia's teeth are in excellent condition.
