A quick trip to the park ended in the intensive care unit for a Kentucky toddler, who contracted a rare disease from a tick bite. Two-year-old Jackson Oblisk, of Kentucky, has a long recovery ahead of him after being diagnosed with Rocky Mountain spotted fever. But he's far from alone. Tick-borne diseases have been on the rise over the last 30 years, said Dr. Brian Fallon of the Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases Research Center.
