These Explorers Just Sent the First Live Video Broadcast From the Deep Sea

March 13, 2019

A team of scientists is making history after sending the first live broadcast from the depths of the ocean. The explorers took the plunge in a submersible, diving more than 300 feet down into the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa. The team was on a mission to observe some of the least explored areas and track how climate change is affecting the ocean. The underwater video captured schools of fish, an eel, corals and sponges on rocks. The video was sent through the waves using LED light.
