Volcano Shoots Ash and Smoke Three Miles Into the Sky

A volcano erupted in Indonesia, shooting smoke and ash over three miles into the sky. There are no reported injuries from Mount Sinabung's eruption. The mountain, located on the island of Sumatra, had been dormant for 400 years before erupting in 2010. The volcanic activity was registered on seismograph needles. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Center in Australia issued a "red notice" for planes.
