Zoo Animals Measure Up at Annual Weigh-In

How many times have you eaten while standing on a scale? These animals at the London Zoo aren't worried about the number. Staff say the weigh-in is a chance to find out about any pregnancies or when animals are about to molt. The keepers can also get clues about the animals' health and administer medicines according to their weights.  "We can treat our animals. We have dedicated vets here and a large strong vet team to help us treat and make sure our animals are kept fit and healthy," assistant curator Teague Stubbington told Reuters.
