Consumer Firestorm! Why Are So Many People Upset With The Valentine's Day Flowers They Ordered

It was not a good Valentine’s Day for at least one floral delivery company and thanks to social media, everyone knows it. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

It's the war of the roses between 1-800-Flowers and some enraged customers!

One FOX News correspondent commented, "Everything's NOT coming up roses for 1-800-Flowers. The company is flooded with complaints from customers after their loved ones received dead Valentine's Day bouquets!"

One customer, Amanda Santanello, said, "They're rotted!"

She said that about the pathetic, wilted flowers her husband sent her for Valentine's Day.

INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent asked Santanello, "How disappointed are you guys in 1-800-Flowers?"

She said, "Completely disappointed! I would not recommend them."

Janet Devito is another disappointed customer. She said, "I was shocked because they were dead."

Social media is trending with angry postings.

Sarcastic regards to the company came from one customer: "I-800-Flowers nice Valentine's Day gift. Here's a pic of the dead flowers."

What went wrong? Some are blaming the extreme weather conditions for the public relations debacle. The company sent out five million roses on Valentine's Day!

Home and garden designer P. Allen Smith told INSIDE EDITION's Lisa Guerrero that buying flowers online is always risky.

He said, "Whenever we order flowers online, we always chew our nails a little bit, what's it gonna look like on the other end?"

His advice? Call a florist who's close to the delivery destination.

Smith said, "Talk to a human being!"

The company said in a statement: "If a customer is not completely satisfied with their order, our caring team obsessed with service will redeliver, refund, credit, or offer a comparable exchange."
