Lady Antebellum Tour Bus Catches Fire Near Dallas

Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott and her husband were on board the bus when it caught fire outside Dallas.

Lady Antebellum’s tour bus burst into flames!

Lead singer Hillary Scott and her husband had just evacuated the bus when it was overcome by fire. Within minutes, it was reduced to this burnt out shell.

Scott posted this photo: "Our bus tire caught on fire and we had to evacuate very quickly."


The dramatic scene unfolded near Dallas on Thursday morning and backed up traffic for hours.

WFAA-TV reporter Monica Hernandez shot video of the traffic from inside her car.

“I shot there for miles going really slowly, bumper to bumper and that is because of a tour bus fire,” she said.

Motorists had no idea the heavy traffic had anything to do with the country star.

The “Need You Now” singer was on her way from her home in the Nashville area to Dallas for the American Country Music Awards where they will perform. Along with her husband, Chris Tyrell and Scott's tour manager and a driver were also on board.

Her publicist said it wasn't her usual bus, and the fire started after a tire blew.  

Fortunately, she had left her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter at home.

"Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe," she said.
