Conners sang the national anthem and his rendition was so powerful, NFL star and member of Houston Texans, J.J. Watt left his seat to give the tween a hug and congratulate him when he was done singing.

It took Conners a few seconds to realize who it was after Watt came up from behind him and tapped him on his shoulders. When he finally figured out it was the NFL star, Conners had such a surprised look on his face that quickly turned to sheer joy.

On Wednesday morning, Watt tweeted “Could y’all help me get in contact with Nicholas? He dominated the national anthem last night.”

Nick singing at game 2 for the Houston Rockets, he has tonsillitis and almost managed to make it through without a squeak, not his best performance but awesome for pushing through! Way to go Nick!
