Tyra Banks Apologizes For America's Next Top Model Promo
Tyra Banks says she "truly apologizes," amid growing controversy over a commercial for the upcoming season of America's Next Top Model.
The promo features a contestant who stands 6'2" with a shockingly tiny waist. It's so small that one of the judges can actually wrap his hands around her middle.
In the promo, the camera cuts to Banks, who says, "There's something about her that I like!"
Banks is being blasted for appearing to praise the stick-thin model.
Now, the TV host is apologizing for the promo, saying it was "edited in a way that misconstrued our overarching message."
She went on to say, "As a leader in celebrating and promoting healthy body image, I must admit that I regrettably didn't see this clip before it was released to the public...We truly apologize for any confusion, anger, or disappointment it may have caused."
