West Virginia Senator Urges MTV to Cancel 'Buckwild'

Buckwild is under fire--a U.S. Senator is calling on MTV to kill the series before it's even begun.

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin says he's "repulsed" by the show.

In an open letter to MTV, Manchin calls the show a "Travesty which plays to ugly, inaccurate stereotypes about the people of West Virginia. I urge you to reconsider airing the show."

The show, which replaces Jersey Shore, documents the antics of a group of wild twenty-something’s.

In the preview, they are shown getting drunk, fighting, and turning a dump truck into a swimming pool.

“It's not flattering at all and is very offensive. This is not who we are” Manchin said.

The shows Executive Producer is defending the show saying, "There is a certain coolness to it. I think it's going to get people talking. It will be very refreshing to the MTV audience."

But Senator Manchin says the show does nothing but bring shame to his great state.

“In no way is this reality, and it's definitely not reality in West Virginia," he said.
