INSIDE EDITION reports from the middle of Times Square as New Year's Eve preparations are in full swing, while people around the world begging celebrating 2013.

The blocks surrounding the area are being called the safest place in the USA today. Thousands of law enforcement personnel will be on patrol tonight, the epi-center of the celebration this New Year's Eve.
This New Year's Eve is the first since the death of legendary TV personality Dick Clark. Ryan Seacrest has been leading the coverage for the last few years after Clark suffered a stroke. Tonight, he goes it alone.
Seacrest told Good Morning America, "The advice he always gave me was to make it seem as comfortable as possible. If you're comfortable on camera, those who are watching will be comfortable as well."
Security is already tight as hundreds of thousands of revelers start packing into Times Square.
If you don't feel like braving the elements but still want that Times Square feel, a glass-walled ballroom at the Marriott Marquis provides quite a vantage point, and there will be plenty to eat just before you go on that New Year's diet.
It's already New Year's in some parts of the world. A breathtaking scene took place at the Sydney Harbour Bridge where they've already rung in 2013. Their neighbors in New Zealand capped off the year with fireworks shot from Aukland's highest point. There was also the always impressive fireworks show over Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour.
