The Flu Hits The Golden Globes

The Flu Hits The Golden Globes

Airdate: 01/14/2013

The flu epidemic struck the Golden Globes!

Here's what Amy Adams told INSIDE EDITION on the red carpet when Deborah Norville asked, “Do you worry about the flu? I see people are sniffily. ”

Adams said, “I think because it is cold, that is why people are sniffily. I’ve had a flu shot, so hopefully that will help.”

The flu was on actor Jeff Daniels' mind, too.

Daniels said, "That flu epidemic is going to L.A. about tomorrow morning."

Everyone was talking about the flu. Hugh Jackman even revealed on stage that he had it.

Jackman said during his acceptance speech when he won for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, “I'm at the tail end of this flu and I am kicking myself for not getting the flu shot."

He spoke more about his flu backstage with INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret.

Moret asked, "You spoke on stage that you had the flu, you are battling the flu?"

Jackman responded, "I am six days into it, I am way out of the woods. I got to tell you, right now, I feel a hell of a lot better than this morning.”

Best actress winner Jennifer Lawrence was also recovering from the flu. She was heard sniffling when she spoke to reporters backstage.

George Clooney had to fill in for Meryl Streep who was sidelined with the flu.

Of course, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler found it a source for humor.

Poehler said, "Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu and I hear she is amazing in it."

Here's how bad the flu epidemic has become. Good Day New York host Rosanna Scotto just came down with the flu but tried to do the live show on Monday anyway.

Scotto said, "This weekend I stayed in bed Saturday and Sunday and I felt I was healthy enough to come in."

She felt so sick she finally gave up and left right in the middle of the show.
