After 16 Years, Joy Behar Is Leaving The View

It's the end of an era as the annoucement comes that Joy Behar is leaving The View after 16 years. INSIDE EDITION reports.

Joy Behar is leaving The View.

She released a statement, saying, "I've put in 16 years and felt the time was right."

Behar was there when the show launched in 1997. Now that she's going, that leaves only Barbara Walters as the last remaining member of the original panel.

What a memorable 16 years it's been.

She famously got so angry at Bill O'Reilly during one of his visits to The Viewthat she and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set.

She also once had the moxy to ask President Obama a question about the best-selling sex book, 50 Shades of Grey.

She asked President Obama, "What is the sex book on every woman's bedside table?"

President Obama replied, "I don't know, but I'm going to ask Michelle when I get home."

Behar is 70 years old. She says she's leaving The View to focus on her standup comedy and play writing. But there's speculation she might be going to CNN to replace the struggling Piers Morgan.
