The movie tells the true but tragic story of Lovelace, who rocketed to fame in the 1972 adult film Deep Throat. The movie made more than $600 million.

Seyfried said, "It's sad that the movie made over $600 million and she was on welfare her whole life."

Lovelace became an overnight symbol of domestic violence when she said in 1986 that her ex-husband, portrayed by actor Peter Sarsgaard in the movie, forced her to perform in pornographic films against her will.

She said, "Charles Traynor made me a prisoner, beat me, and forced me to perform in pornographic movies. Often at gunpoint."

Seyfried said, "The violent scenes were really hard. It's hard to be manhandled even if you're acting."

Sharon Stone, who plays Linda Lovelace’s mother, turned up the star power at Tuesday night's premiere turning heads in a figure-hugging white dress. The 55-year-old actress recently posed for a stunning layout for New You magazine.

Co-star Chris Noth, of The Good Wife, was dazzled. He said, "Sharon looked so beautiful tonight!"

What's her secret?

Stone said, "I just believe that all of the things that they say you are supposed to do, you do. It is just body, mind, and spirit. If you eat right and sleep, that is it."

Seyfried promoted the film on Letterman Tuesday night. She brought her Australian Shepherd, Finn to the stage and he does amazing tricks by balancing things on his head. On the show, he balanced a hamburger on his head.
