Pro Golfer's Caddy Is Also His Wife

It was a triumphant win for young golfer, Patrick Reed, when he achieved his first championship. So what did he do to celebrate? He gave his caddy a kiss and hug. That is because Patrick Reed's caddy is his wife.

Despite her small stature, Justine Reed has been by her husband's side, day in and day out, all year long lugging his heavy golf bag across miles and miles of golf course fairways.

She told INSIDE EDITION, “A lot of times people will say the bag is bigger than me. ‘Gosh she's so tiny, how does she carry that bag?’”

Justine is just 5”1’ and weighs 100 pounds. The bag weighs 50 pounds.

He said, “The bag is heavy. I can't carry it for 18 holes.”

The couple got married just last year and couldn't bear to be apart. So, Justine gave up her career in nursing and took up caddying.

She said, “If he was on the road, I knew I would never see him. We didn't want that.”

But first she had to prove she could do it, so they played a test round.

“He put everything he could into this bag. It was really hot and he was struggling more than I was,” she said.

They've competed in 25 tournaments together this year and finally, last month they achieved success.
Their first big win was the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a grand prize of $950,000.

She said, “It's been a great experience. We’re having a great time."

"It's something special," he said.
