In the video Solange Knowles punches her brother-in-law, kicks him, and unleases a verbal tirade. A man believed to be a bodyguard holds her back, but she kicks Jay Z again! And was Solange spitting at the rap mogul?
The video, obtained by TMZ, all goes down as big sister Beyonce looks on helplessly. Jay Z tries to block Solange's blows and kicks, but keeps his cool and never strikes back.
It all happened at New York City's trendy Standard Hotel. Jay Z and Beyonce and her sister, Solange were attending an after-party for last week's Met Gala. When it was time to leave, they all stepped into the elevator together. That's when Solange lost it on her brother-in-law.
The surveillance video in the elevator captures everything, showing Beyonce in the corner. Her sister walks in, followed by Jay Z. There's no audio on the video, but Solange's punches, kicks, and spitting speak for themselves.
Moments later the trio left the hotel. Solange charged for her waiting car. Head bent, she looked furious. Beyonce manages to put a slight smile on her face for the cameras. Meanwhile, Jay Z headed to a different car, clearly avoiding getting into another enclosed space with his sister-in-law.
Twenty-seven-year-old Solange is a singer and model whose career has been hugely overshadowed by her world-famous sister. Still, the two are close, often posting photos on social media.
Solange attended the Met Gala with Beyonce and Jay Z . Beyonce vamped for the camera and at one point lost her ring. Jay Z slipped it back on her finger with a smile. Once again, it was another night when all eyes were on the superstar couple.
INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent asked the ladies of The Talk, who are shooting their show in New York this week, what they thought of the shocking video. Sharon Osbourne told Trent, "It's nice to know that it's not just my family that fights."
