Just hours after that shocking elevator video surfaced of Beyoncé's sister attacking Jay Z, the superstar couple sat courtside at a Brooklyn Nets game, smiling and very lovey-dovey. They seemed unfazed by the storm over that now-notorious video.
We're learning more about what set 27-year-old Solange Knowles off in the elevator. According to the New York Post, she got drunk at the Met Gala earlier in the evening and "was spoiling for a fight."
By the time she arrived at the after-party at the Standard Hotel's trendy Boom Boom Room, Solange was "belligerent," "like a pressure cooker waiting to explode." Sources say she was seen feuding with fashion designer Rachel Roy.
At one point, another partygoer sniped to Solange, "What is your problem?" leading Beyoncé to step in and reportedly say, "You don't speak to my sister that way."
Solange next turned her wrath on her brother-in-law, punching, kicking, spitting and unleashing a verbal tirade.
Solange's hair-trigger temper has been seen in public before. In a live TV interview in 2008, Solange lost it when she was asked about Jay Z, saying, "Please don't tie me in to family and my brother-in-law's establishment."
She once tweeted: "I don't believe in violence but I almost beat someone's (blank) tonight." She abruptly cancelled her European tour last summer, blaming mental and physical health issues.
We're also learning more about the bodyguard who found himself in the middle of the elevator fight. He's Beyoncé's longtime bodyguard, Julius de Boer. He's with Beyoncé everywhere she goes. INSIDE EDITION cameras spotted him by her side at last year's Super Bowl.
Other than her fists and feet, Solange's weapon of choice was a purse. In the video it can be seen ricocheting off Jay Z. The bag is a gold clutch by Anya Hindmarch and costs nearly $1,700.
Solange still seems to be fuming. She's deleted all the photos of Beyoncé from her Instagram account except for one. Ouch.
