Nicki Minaj’s bizarre speech was just one of the noteworthy moments from the BET Awards. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Nicki Minaj was looking super hot at the BET Awards! But what she said during her acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hot Artist really shocked everyone.
"The other day--literally I didn't tell anybody this-- I really thought I was about to die," said Minaj. "Like, I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn't even want to call the ambulance..."
Minaj continued, "I would rather sit there and die.' And it made me realize I don't care what anybody's got to say. I'm going to do me. I'm going to do me."
The former American Idol judge didn't elaborate about her crisis.
Singer Pharrell Williams opened the show, and went on to win multiple awards for his hit, "Happy."
"It's the award that belongs to all the people," said Williams.
Comedian Chris Rock hosted the award show at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater and delivered non-stop jabs. One easy target: L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling!
"What exactly did Donald Sterling say?" Rock asked. "I don't want my woman around black basketball players? Me neither!"
Another zinger was flung at Beyonce's little sister's shocking elevator attack on Jay-Z.
"She hit the right rapper because everybody's like 'I can't believe Jay didn't smack her,' " said Rock. "Well Jay's a business man now. He can't just go punching girls in the face. He's got a meeting with Nabisco in the morning, you know?"
Singer Chris Brown hit the stage for the first time since being released after spending two and a half months behind bars for violating probation.
But Brown may have been celebrating too hard. He looked out of it and needed assistance as he left an after party on his way to his Lamborgorni.
Music legend Lionel Richie took home a Lifetime Achievement award, but his last name was misspelled on the screen! The screen read "Ritchie", but it's actually "R-I-C-H-I-E."
And Robin Thicke is still trying to win back his estranged wife, Paula Patton.
"I'd like to dedicate this song to my wife and say I miss you and I'm sorry," said Thicke.
Thicke delivered a personal plea, via national television, with his new song "Forever Love". His wife's name was even projected onto the screen behind him.
Viewer reaction to Thicke's plea has been mixed. One tweeted "shameless." Others are lending their support to the heartbroken singer.
"Get your woman back. We're rooting for your," read another tweet.
