'The Beverly Hillbillies' Star Donna Douglas Dies at 81
Hollywood is in mourning today over the death of actress Donna Douglas. She was 81 and passed away on New Year's Day, her family said.
Douglas played the iconic character Elly May Clampett on the legendary 60's tv show sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies.
Her character on the show is known for her hometown hillbilly appeal, even after her father struck it rich and moved to Beverly Hills.
Max Baer Jr., who played her brother Jethro on the show said: "I loved her. She was Elly May until the day she died."
Douglas died in her home in Louisiana surrounded by friends and family. Cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
"I'm the last man standing. Everybody on the show is gone," said Baer, who is 77.
