Sherri Shepherd Confronted By Surrogate In Court
Sherri Shepherd came face to face with the surrogate she hired to carry a baby.
The former co-host of The View and 32-year-old Jessica Bartholomew confronted each other at a Pennsylvania courthouse, where Shepherd said she shouldn't be responsible for the little boy.
An INSIDE EDITION producer asked Shepherd, "How's it going in there?"
"It’s going, it's going," she replied.
Shepherd wore a court-appropriate dress and black cardigan and flats. She smiled as she spoke with her lawyers in the hallway of family court.
Her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Lamar Sally, asked the judge to declare that Shepherd is the legal mother of Lamar Jr., who's now seven months old.
Lamar spoke outside court and said, "A child should know who his mother is."

Shepherd notified Lamar that she wanted nothing to do with the child a few months before the birth.
Jessica Bartholomew was paid $25,000 as a surrogate and signed a 23-page contract with Shepherd. An egg donor was used.
Bartholomew told INSIDE EDITION, "How could you just give up on a human being that you decided in a contract you signed to do that? This is your child."
Because Shepherd refused to show up at the hospital when the baby was born, Bartholomew’s name was put on the birth certificate. Bartholomew took the stand on Wednesday to tell the judge about the financial problems that have plagued her as a result.

In that same interview, she said, "I do get medical bills for L.J. I am now listed as a non-custodial parent in California. I have a child support case coming against me."
Inside the courtroom, Lamar said Shepherd refused to make eye contact with him or their surrogate.
He told INSIDE EDITION, "She can't look us in the eye. So, maybe that tells you everything."
The judge now has to decide whether Shepherd should take legal responsibility for the baby, who's growing up without a mom.
