Mia Farrow Contradicts Naomi Campbell in "Blood Diamond" Case
It's Mia vs. Naomi.
Actress Mia Farrow took the stand Monday in the blood diamond trial where supermodel Naomi Campbell testified last week. And according to Mia, Naomi lied.
You'll recall that Campbell told the court she was given a mysterious gift following dinner at Nelson Mandela's home in 1997.
"They were kind of dirty looking pebbles," said Campbell in her testimony to the court last week.
She said she didn't realize the pebbles were blood diamonds that had been sent by notorious African dictator Charles Taylor, who is on trial for war crimes.
But Mia Farrow says Naomi told her a different story.
"She said she had been awakened. Some men were knocking at the door and they had been sent by Charles Taylor, and they had given her a huge diamond," said Farrow.
Just see how the two celebrities contradict each other on the stand.
Campbell was asked by the court last week, "These two men, did you know who they were?"
"No, I'm afraid not," said Campbell.
Farrow told the court on Monday, "She said they had been sent by Charles Taylor."
Now Campbell is facing headlines like this—"Bloody Lies."
If the court finds that Campbell gave false testimony, she could face up to two years in jail and a stiff fine.
