Brisol Palin opened up on her blog about her cancelled marriage to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

Bristol Palin is speaking out about her cancelled marriage to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

She posted a photo on her blog with son Tripp under the title "The Wedding That Didn't Happen."

She wrote: “I guess you have seen by now that the wedding - that was supposed to happen last weekend - was called off. I'm sure you've seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.”

Bristol competed on Dancing with the Stars and Marine Sergeant Meyer received the Medal of Honor by President Obama for heroism in Afghanistan.

They planned to be married on May 23 but instead Bristol spent the day with friends in Alaska, posting photos on Instagram.

“I know God's plan is greater than anything else," she wrote, “Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated.”
