'Celebrate the Incredible' - New York City Will Host Parade for Women's World Cup Champs

After much thought, New York City Mayor Bill deBlasio has announced that their will be a parade for the World Cup champs on Friday.

The people have spoken and there will be a ticker tape parade for the World Cup champions!

On Friday, the first ladies of soccer will be honored with the ultimate salute - a parade through Manhattan's Canyon Of Heros - make that Canyon Of Heroines.

In all, there have been 225 parades since 1886 but there has never there been a parade for a woman- let alone a women's team.

Mayor deBlasio posted his decision on Twitter calling on New Yorkers to: "Celebrate the incredible."

The parade will start at 11a.m. and it'll be hosted by ABC's Robin Roberts.

New York’s Bravest have volunteered to help out, tweeting: "Let us know if you want a ride up the canyon of heroes."

On Tuesday, the team celebrated with fans in Los Angeles when they returned from their victory in Canada from Sunday.
