Ariana Grande Apologizes for Saying, 'I Hate America' While Apparently Caught Licking Donut

Pop star Ariana Grande is apologizing after she was caught on camera saying, "I Hate America," while acting strangely at an L.A. donut shop.

It’s hard to believe, but Ariana Grande was caught on surveillance tape apparently licking a donut.

It happened in a little donut shop outside Los Angeles. Grande was there with her new boyfriend and what they did inside the donut place is causing a big stir.

It looks innocent and playful at first. Then, Grande rudely demands service.

"I need a little help from the donut professional here," she said.

"She was really rude to me," said the worker who served her.

She and her boyfriend sniffed the donuts on display. Then her boyfriend stuck out his tongue. Grande looks around to make sure no one's watching, and then she appears to lick the donut. Yuck.

Bad enough, right? But what's really burning up people is what Grande said next.

"I hate Americans, I hate America."

And when did all this happen? On the Fourth of July, of all days.

Grande's boyfriend is Ricky Alvarez. He's one of her backup dancers. Just Wednesday, Grande pulled out of a high-profile appearance at the Major League Baseball All-Star concert this coming weekend.

She pulled out because she had her wisdom teeth pulled.

The owner of the donut shop in Lake Elsinore, California, has filed an official report with the Riverside sheriff's department.

"We are investigating," a police spokesman told INSIDE EDITION.

In a statement, Grande said, “I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my county. That being said let me once again apologize if I have offended anyone with my poor choice of words.”
