As 'I Am Jazz' Sets to Premiere, Jazz Jennings Praises Caitlyn Jenner's Journey: 'I'm Just So Proud of Her'

Jazz Jennings' reality show following her life as a transgender child, "I Am Jazz," is set to premiere on TLC Wednesday night.

Jazz Jennings looks like any other typical teenager, trying on makeup and shopping with her mom. But there's something unique about her story.

She introduced herself to INSIDE EDITION: ‘Hi, my name is Jazz and I’m a 14-year-old transgender child.”

Jazz, who was assigned male at birth, transitioned at a young age.

“I transitioned when I was five years old,” she said.

The journey hasn't been easy, but Jazz thinks having role models like Caitlyn Jenner has been helpful.

Jazz said: “I'm just so proud of her and sharing her journey is really making a difference.”

Now, like Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show, I Am Cait, Jazz has her own show, I Am Jazz. It airs on TLC and shows her daily life in south Florida with her family.

Her mother said: “She never acted like a stereotypical boy, at all, ever, not even close.”

Jazz faces her critics head on. “Whatever they say, I just have to push it aside, I mean, I don't care what they think about me,” she said.
