Cat-in-Trash Can Culprit Wants to Apologize to Cat's Owners Face-to-Face

The woman at the center of the cat-in-a-trash can uproar is asking for a face-to-face meeting with the cat's owners.

Mary Bale says she wants to apologize in person for putting Lola the cat in a trash can, an outrage caught by a security camera.

Lola was trapped for 16 hours before being rescued.

"Are you sorry about what happened?" a reporter asked Bale.

"Of course I am," she said.

Bale is now concerned she'll lose her job as a bank teller because of the uproar.

"I fear my employers will get rid of me," she says. "Who wants to be served by the woman who dumped the cat in a bin?"

A Facebook page called "Death to Mary Bale" was removed after police labeled many of the comments "inflammatory and offensive."
