Bacon-Wrapped Chicken and Stuffed French Toast: Inside NFL Star J.J. Watt's 9,000 Calorie Diet

NFL star J.J. Watt talked opened up about his 9,000 calorie diet and says brunch is his favorite meal.

Houston Texan defender J.J. Watt is a big star - and his 9,000 calorie-a-day diet is going to keep him that way.

Watt told ESPN that he started eating more fat and carbs after his energy felt low and his trainer realized he was not eating enough.

“I started crushing avocados," Watt said.

In one sitting, he eats eight chicken breasts - including three wrapped in bacon.

His favorite meal is his one-a-week brunch cheat day.

He said: “Had a massive potato pancake omelet, which is an omelet inside a potato pancake. Then I had stuffed French toast with berries and stuff.

"My cheat meals aren't even that exciting. That was my cheat meal. The omelet is still pretty darn healthy. The stuffed French toast was the cheat meal, but that was delicious."

His diet is even inspiring fans to try it. One Houston Texan fan took to YouTube to attempt to eat more than Watt.

He didn't reveal his exact plan - unlike Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who shared his diet and exercise plan in 2013 when filming Hercules:

While Watt’s diet is not typical to the average person, he does say it is working and he is gaining more energy. This will be put to the test when the NFL season kicks off next month.
