Donald Trump is being blasted today for insulting his rival Carly Fiorina's looks.
He made the comments while watching Fox News with a Rolling Stone reporter for this week’s cover story. When Fiorina appeared on the TV, Trump said: “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that?
“Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?! I mean, she's a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?"
The reporter says Trump's expression was that of "schoolboy disgust.”
Fiorina hit back last night when she spoke to another one of Trump’s many targets -- Megyn Kelly.
Fiorina said: “Maybe, just maybe, I’m getting under his skin a little bit cause I am climbing in the polls.”
In an interview with Fox and Friends on Thursday, Trump addressed his comments, saying he did it in a “jocular manner” and had been referring to Fiorina's persona.
The billionaire said: "Probably I did say something like that about Carly. I'm talking about persona. I'm not talking about look."
Trump said the same thing when he called into The View. Joy Behar said: "Why don't you comment on her brains instead of her face!"
A new CNN poll shows no letup in support for Trump. He's at 32 percent of support among Republicans, with Dr. Ben Carson at 19 percent.
The poll shows Trump’s support among women has risen from 20 percent to 33 percent.
Trump is also under fire after the R.E.M. song "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" was played at that rally in Washington D.C., on Wednesday to protest the nuclear deal with Iran.
R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe tweeted via bassist Mike Mills' account and blasted the Trump campaign.
Stipe said: "Go f*** yourselves, the lot of you, you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men. Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign."
The band also released an official statement via its own Twitter account.
The band has been long-time Democrat supporters. In 2004 they played on the “Vote for Change” tour in support of John Kerry and in 2008 supported Barack Obama’s campaign.
