Kami Klingbeil, from Chico, California, gave birth to baby Brydon on August 12, just hours after their beloved goldendoodle Delia had nine puppies.

"We had no idea it was going to happen," Kami told INSIDE EDITION.

Delia's due date was two days before Kami's labor was induced - but the pup still hadn't given birth when she headed to hospital. While there with her mom, Kami got a call from her dad.

"We're at your house," he told her. "And the dog went into labor."

Delia, who had gone into labor after her owner, actually beat her. She gave birth to nine healthy pups three hours before Brydon arrived. All of the puppies are black, unlike their golden mom.

Kami joked with a photographer friend - who had taken photos at the hospital - that they should stage a newborn photo shoot with Brydon and the puppies.

Days later, the photographer, Teresa Raczynski of Park Avenue Photography, got in touch and said she wanted to make it happen.

Kami said her son, who was just six days old at the time, adored the shoot.

"He loved it," she said. "He was hating pictures but we started putting the puppies on top of him and he loved cuddling them."

The puppies were pretty happy about it, too.

"They liked his warmth and he liked theirs," she said.

Teresa shared the adorable results on her Facebook page.

Kami and her husband, who also have a 17-month-old, are keeping one of the female puppies but the others already have new homes waiting for them. But Kami wants to stay in touch.

"I'm hoping to keep all the dog owners in the loop," she said. "We'd love to do another photo shoot at six months and a year."
