22-Year-Old Whose Husband And Baby Were Killed By Drunk Driver Shares Gut-Wrenching Plea

The sole survivor of a horrific drunk driving accident is now making an emotional plea on Facebook a year after the incident.

A year ago, Destiny Mantia's life was forever changed when her husband and baby son were killed by a drunk driver.

The 22-year-old is now making an emotional plea in the hope that no others families have to endure such a tragedy.

In the heartwrenching plea shared to her Facebook page, she writes: "One selfish decision to drink and drive caused me to be a widow and a mom to an angel at the age of 21."

On September 20th, 2014, she lost her husband Corey and 15-month-old son, Parker, when the car they were in was struck head on by a drunk driver, 42-year-old Shanna Cook.

Even though the family was wearing seat belts, Destiny was the only survivor. The driver, who crossed the center line, died at the scene.

"She ended any dreams that we may have had together and caused pain I never knew existed," Destiny wrote in her post.

The tragic incident shook the town of Troy, Missouri.

Destiny’s voice is now being heard by millions on social media, where she is stating: "Be an advocate! Stand up with me! Let's stop this. One is too many. Don’t drink and drive!"
