A man who motorists feared to be dead on a highway was apparently just taking a nap.

A man who Pennsylvania State Police feared was dead on a highway was apparently just taking a nap.

According to reports, several motorists called 911 dispatchers in Northampton County when they saw a man’s body lying on the road.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who they determined was homeless and said to be “just taking a nap,” according to police.

One of the 911 callers, Dave Scallion, told LehighValleyLive.com: “It shook me up. It’s not normal to see someone laying on the highway.”

Police woke up the homeless man and he left the scene. No charges were filed.
