I'm having a real hard time watching the Academy Awards (so far). The last song was terrible! Kim should sue her plastic surgeon! #Oscars

In a recent interview in the New York Times, he said: "I would have preferred I didn't send it. That was done in fun, but sometimes you do things in fun and they turn out to be hurtful, and I don't like doing that."

Novak says the Trump tweet devastated her when she read it backstage at the Oscars and she didn't leave her Oregon home for months. She finally fired back at Trump in a 2014 interview with Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne.

She said: “We've got to stand up to these bullies. We have to be stronger than they are and say, 'We're not going to take it anymore.'"

Novak told INSIDE EDITION on Tuesday: "It's too bad bullies don't think before they open their mouth."

When she first read the tweet, she told Trent: "When something comes out vocally against you, it gets to you."

And when Trent asked if she'd ever vote for Trump, she responded: "Are you kidding? Oh my God, no!"

Trump also sent her a private letter and has since mastered Twitter in a way no one else in the 2016 presidential race has.
